While its sibling, 16.1, matured solely in ex-American whiskey casks, Octomore 16.2 takes a different path — expertly aged in a combination of first-fill and second-fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, along with ex-American oak, creating layers of smoke, fruit, and sweetness that are both deep and complex.

On the nose, dark chocolate, dried fruits, and sweet smokemingle with toasted oak and hints of orange zest. The palate bursts with rich toffee, sultanas, treacle, and espresso, enveloped in a wave of warm peat and coastal minerality. The finish is long, resonant, and beautifully balanced — a perfect interplay of smouldering smoke, sherry richness, and maritime freshness.
