Bladnoch Liora – A New Light in the Classic Collection

Bladnoch’s rich heritage dates back to 1817, when brothers John and Thomas McClelland secured a license to distill whisky on their Baldnoch farm in the Scottish Lowlands. Over nearly a century, generations of the McClelland family continuously modernized the distillery, laying the foundation for a legacy of craftsmanship.

In 2015, Australian entrepreneur David Prior breathed new life into Bladnoch with an extensive restoration led by Master Distiller Ian MacMillan. After two years of meticulous work, whisky production resumed, and in 2017, Bladnoch proudly celebrated its 203rd anniversary—marking it as one of Scotland’s oldest and largest independently owned Scotch whisky distilleries.

Now, the Classic Collection welcomes its fourth expression: Liora, a name meaning “the gift of light” in Hebrew.

This unique whisky is matured in a harmonious combination of ex-bourbon barrels and fresh virgin oak casks. Bottled at cask strength, with no chill filtration and natural color preserved, Liora offers a bold and luminous addition to Bladnoch’s timeless portfolio.
